Katie Stenglein, owner and operator of Kustom Kate has been a Decorative Artist for 10 years. Katie started working part-time with Carolyn Penkeva of Interior Impressions in 1999 while continuing her full time career. In 2004, to keep up with the growing demand for Katie's unique style, she made the decision to follow her true passion and pursued Decorative Artistry full-time. Kustom Kate was launched in early 2005. Katie continuously learns new techniques and takes classes to remain current with new trends and product certifications. Some of the techniques she has mastered include: plastering, marbling, wood-graining, glazing, limestone and eco-friendly (green) finishes. On extensive projects, Katie employs well-qualified assistants who are certified to use each material. This ensures continuity in each finish.
